It really doesn't matter what career you are building, WHO YOU KNOW and WHO KNOWS YOU -- makes all the difference in the world!
When I was active as a manager-trainer -- this was one of the business practices right up there on the list of "Do's" for success in real estate, and in all facets of life!
For me, a dozen or so years ago when I started my hobby of doing "extra work" for local movies in Vancouver area, my networks suddenly expanded exponentially. While taking the Film Studies program at Capilano University by evening classes for 7 years, I just kept on networking!
This all led to getting credits as an Actor, which helped expand real estate skills! As I swerved into Screenwriting, this habit of networking became a tremendous source of leads and sources of endless information. I have enjoyed working with several Screenwriting Conferences as an Events Organizer--after all--I personally know and am known by the most respected trainers in that business! at a local Film Conference in Vancouver.
And it all comes back to basic skills
learned as a new realtor, over 3 decades ago.
For those of you who are/were withRoyal LePage, Realty World, Century 21 and NRS Block Bros. -- I earned the title of the "Chocolates Lady" with chocolate logos in a mini-bag, stapled to a business card. And for "best costume" as the "Queen Bee of Referrals" wearing full BEE costume, chocolate molded Bees and portion packed honey in the minibag stapled to business cards.
Hey, if you're going to be in business, you might as well enjoy the ride!
