Gene has been a Residential and Commercial Real Estate Broker and Valuation consultant for over 31 years. He is currently, in addition to his real estate sales an instructor, with KAPLAN PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS,REBAC and TEXAS REALTOR UNIVERSITY. He was in the first group to be authorized to facilitate instruction in the new NAR GREEN DESIGNATION and the HOME FROM WORK certification. He has received certification as an TRANSNATIONAL REFERRAL SPECIALIST and as a TEXAS AFFORDABLE HOUSING SPECIALIST. Gene just became the first Realtor in the nation to be sponsored by NAR to complete the LEED AP training. Several commercial Realtors have achieved the LEED designation as offered by the USGBC on their own or for their company. This is certification as a consultant for New Building, Existing Building and Interior Commercial buildout for GREEN or sustainability construction.

BEAUMONT TEXAS

Gene has been a Boy Scout leader and instructor for over 40 years. Two of his four children have received the EAGLE BADGE. He has been an instructor for the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center for the Houston Bar Association. He has been a civil litigation mediator since 1989, Gene has worked in the courts of Texas as a Court Receiver and as an Expert Witness in both State and Federal Civil law suits.

He is an avid environmentalist, having served as the President of the Big Thicket Association and worked in numerous environmental issues. He still goes white water rafting and light duty mountain climbing when he takes the time. He has been known to go to New Zealand on occasion to lecture on real estate at REINZ, and visit his daughter, son-in-law and his new grandson. He has been involved in animal rescue organizations after the hurricanes and is currently the father of two large standard poodles. Gene has been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity for years working in the hurricane rebuild areas.
