Lexington District One School Taxes may rise 8.5 mils on cars, boats, businesses, industry, and non-owner occupied
homes according to a recent article in the Lexington Chronicle.
Lexington SC homes that are owner occupied would not be affected by this change. The boards decision to make this move hinges on whether or not the district receives 6 million dollars in stimulus money or not. If the increase takes effect, the increase will mean an extra 51.00 in taxes on every 100,000 assessment. The district will be facing some tough decisions in the coming weeks that will hinge heavily on the status of the stimulus money.
